Table QUIZ 2013
Below is my first person story at about Cian Perill (The Author) at the CBS Table Quiz.
As I entered the Hall I chose a table towards the middle on the left. I sat down with my back to the exit, with Aaron on my right, my Father on the left, and David across from me. There was an awful lot of excitement, especially from the children, screaming when they got an answer correct, such as "What planet is closest to the Sun".
I got many answers. There was a sheet with "Famous" phrases. I say famous in quotation marks as I don't believe 'OK-PM' is a strong hint for whatever it was. Aaron got us to agree on "Yes, Prime Minister", which is a show. Another one was "JOB" with the letters "AN" inside the O. As you may/may not have guessed, it was An Inside Job. Base was one. Base Line of course, and so on.
There were a bunch of pictures of people and quotes from shops. Dunnes and Lidl were the two shops, while the rest were unknown (to me) people. My Father got them all, 8/10.
The rest were the questions. Most rounds were good, but they could've dropped the 1 and a half music rounds. Two questions were about 1 Direction, which sent shrill screams coming from very girl in the Hall. That in itself made a shiver go down my spine.
The first was naming people/albums, I got one: Harry Styles, simply from multiple girls in my class saying stuff like 'Ooh, I'd marry Harry' and 'I love Harry, he's my favourite!' et cetra, et cetra.
My Team (The Blues Brothers (which my family decided on without any argument once it was considered)) had a score of 77, despite us getting low scores from round 4, 5 and 6. However, we were beaten by the Teachers, with 81 as their score, a difference of 4. However, teachers are meant to know loads of random information, so their score didn't count, leaving The Blues Brothers at the top of the scoreboard.
In the end, my family got:
Two bottles of wine (One White, One Red),
A box of Maltesers,
Wine Gums,
And first place in this Table Quiz.
