At our nearest library today, some classes came to get a humorous side of the Titanic disaster. Special thanks goes to Mike and the people working at the Ennis library, for this marvelous show. Children were given a chance to wear some clothes made to look like from the date, use a telegraph, and finally, have a great time during the spectacular event.
Two posts on the same day, one after another is happening currently! This time the post is much, much shorter, but we have pictures of the Under 21's Hurling team at our school instead. They can all be found here.
This weekend we are celebrating Halloween by having a fancy dress disco! We are delighted to have so many children from our school come. Below we have a poll to see just how many are coming! Are you?
On October 14th 2 members of the Under 21 Clare Hurling team arrived at our school. Tony Kelly and Stephen O'Halloran signed autographs and were wonderful with all the children. However, it was hard to get an autograph, but that didn't affect our spirits as they walked into our Hall.
The best part of it all (Apart from meeting the team) was holding the Cashel Cross Cup, now owned by us, Clare. Many thanks were given to the team who came and talked to our students. Children were given a chance to hold the trophy with help of their teachers
At the end of the day we were all worn out from the excitement of the afternoon. Everyone made new memories, some they will never forget. And our school's reputation now has a golden mark in its history after this wonderful day.
The once long waited summer 2012 school holidays have come and, by now, have well gone by once again, like every other year. An accident free summer, among our students Buíochas le Dia -- Thanks be to God. We sincerely wish our rang VI pupils of last year the very best and God's blessings upon them in their chosen secondary school. To all of our new pupils -- Junior Infants and others that have join our ranks in the previous September to whom we give a massive céad míle fáilte -- Welcome. We hope all will have a happy year of some work.
Annual Book Fair
Our annual Book Fair will take place this year from the 26th to Friday the 30th of November 2012. We receive a large percentage of the money raised at the the Book Fair in the form of books for our classroom libraries. All children are encouraged to read with their parents.
Our boys football team will be striving to claim the Clare Primary School Division 1 football title for a record fourth time in a row this autumn. We all wish them luck.
Doora Barefield Under 12's Girls
Our girls had tremendous success over the summer months winning the league against Clooney/Quin and the Championship playing West Clare Gaels. They also represented Clare in the Community Games Munster Finals in UL. CBS pupils on three teams were Amy Lenihan, Chloe Towey, Laura McDonald and last, but not least, Áine Moloney.
Once again we are delighted to have Gerry Fox back with us for 2012 for coaching hurling and Gaelic Football. This is Gerry's 11th year with us now. His friendly and helpful approach is appreciated by all the pupils and staff in mBraithre Cristoí Innis. The strength of Gaelic games in Clare is holding together because of people like Gerry. Fada beo an GAA.
